Marketing & Communications Committee Meeting Minutes
June 26, 2006
Please find below our interpretation of the items discussed in this meeting. If you should find any errors
or items you would like to clarify, please contact Dianna Zoch within seven (7) days, otherwise these
minutes stand as stated.
Vision: To provide an active interface between the marketing committee and the chapter. To coordinate
and enhance communications efforts of the chapter.
I. Website
Vision: The website will be designed to interface easily with the end user, and be easily maintained by
the chapter. It will be informative and communicate pertinent information to viewers, as well as links
to our sponsors and the National Chapter.
1. Action Steps
A Dianna to review the updated website to ensure all links are working and all items
requested have been accomplished.
B Dianna to let Chad know that we are requesting that a reminder of the meeting’s
donation focus for Teacher’s Treasures is included on the website posting and when
the email reminder for the meeting goes out.
C Dianna and Earl to submit to Chad information on the Teacher’s Treasures outreach
for addition to the website.
2. Phase 2 of the website is up and operational.
2
II. Newsletter
Vision: The newsletter will continue to be informational, timely, and have a professional appearance
in keeping with new local chapter branding.
1. Action Steps
A Denny to contact Joe to have Committee chairs bring items to the Board meetings for
the website.
B Corey or Bill to verify what format Chad would like to receive items for posting to the
website.
2. Dave will be submitting his last President’s message to be posted on the website.
3. It was discussed on how to keep new things on the website, it was determined that each
Committee should submit articles or updates at least every other month. These items should
be submitted prior to or at the Board meeting.
III. Community Involvement
Vision: To involve our chapter in “key” community initiatives that support the betterment of our
community and rallys our membership as a family committed to good causes.
1. Action Steps
A Earl, Scott and Greg to present our additional outreach program, Teacher’s
Treasures, and how we can contribute at the next chapter meeting.
B Committee to request that Chad send out weekly reminders of the donation request
for the following month’s meeting focus.
C Earl to confirm with Marj how we identify how the money is being donated, through
today’s lunch or just as an IFMA donation.
2. It was discussed to add an incentive to the donation program for Teacher’s Treasures, after
many ideas the decision was made to award the highest donation from an individual. They
will receive their lunch and a guest’s lunch free at the next meeting; this would not only
encourage participation but expose IFMA to potential new members.
3. At the next chapter meeting, the Committee will be unveiling our outreach program with
Teacher’s Treasures. A video will run during networking prior to the meeting and again after
the meeting, a check will be presented to Phylis and she will speak briefly about the program,
then we will identify opportunities to help.
IV. Public Relations
Vision: The vehicle to inform the Indianapolis community of who we are, what we are, what we do and
attract attention.
1. Action Steps
A None at this time.
2. The first issue of Building Excellence with the IFMA page has been published with the
member highlight on Nancy Digman with resounding success.
3. We are still targeting Women’s Magazine for an article.
V. Other Business
